Plot To Kill De Gaulle
LA PLATA (Argentina), January 6. Armand Charpentier, a member of the O.A.S. terrorist organisation who confessed he came to Argentina to assassinate President de Gaulle in October, has been arrested. Buenos Aires police said Charpentier was a 25-year-old French student from Paris and that he is now being held in connexion with an armed robbery attempt. A police spokesman said Charpentier confessed he travelled to Argentina on forged papers to assassinate de Gaulle during the President's visit. Charpentier admitted his plans were foiled by unusually strong security precautions.
