Women’s Cricket Ist INNINGS VICTORY
South Beats North
South Island took full advantage of the good start given by J. Stead (38) and J. Lowe (24) to gain a first innings win, over North in the inter-island women’s cricket match yesterday. P. Moore (82) and E. Paton (73) gained control over the North bowling, although the tail-enders were unable to score many runs. The match ended on a note of anti-climax. The South Island bowlers made no attempt to force the issue and at stumps North Island had made 151 for two wickets. Scoreboard: SOUTH ISLAND First Innings J. Stead, b Saddington .. 38 A.
