Ceylon Beats India
(N.Z. P.A. -Reuter —Copyright) AHMEDABAD, Jan. 6. Ceylon, set to get 115 runs to win, beat India by four wickets in the third and final unofficial cricket test yesterday. Ceylon, which declared at its overnight total of 144 for seven in reply to India's 189. shot out India for 66 in its second innings. The offbreak bowler, S. Jayasinghe, who took six for 38 in India’s first innings, captured three for 14 in the second.
India won the previous two tests, by an innings and 46 runs and by seven wickets.
Driver Killed.—The American racing driver, Billy Wade, was killed at Daytona speedway on Tuesday when a tyre blew out while he was travelling at 170 miles an hour. His car ran into a wall. — (P.A., Rtr.).
