Stokes, driving his hydroplane Voodoo, powered with a Cortina 1500 motor, won a scratch race for 140 cu. in. class boats on Lake Karaplro.

On January 2. Stokes won the North Inland 95 cu. in. championship In Voodoo, racing on Lake Rotorua.

Yesterday, at Kawerau, Stokes drove Voodoo to victory in the New Zealand 140 cu. in. hydroplane championship race at Kawerau.

Stokes is to race in the New Zealand unlimited hydroplane championship race at Raglan today. Victory would give him his fourth win in six days .Stokes is now the reigning titleholder in both the New Zealand 95 cu. in. and 140 cu. In classes. He stands a good chance of bagging the unlimited class title as well. Voodoo la now in its third season.
