Interference Not Proved
(N.Z. Press Association) OAMARU.
Zinder had to survive a protest to win the Kurow Cup at the Kurow Jockey Club’s annual meeting yesterday. The inquiry held up doubles investors for some time with the result the racing was delayed. The protest was lodged by Mr S. G. Farry, part-owner of Baalbek, who finished second to Zinder, on the grounds of interference to Baalbek during the running. The committee found that although Baalbek lost ground at the half-mile, the evidence on interference was conflicting, and the protest was dismissed.
By Appointment and Grand Harbour were a late bracket in the Nove Stakes No. 1. E. P. Corboy, who nominated Grand Harbour, was fined £5.
