Obituary MR F. F. HUSTON
. A Lyttelton man who gave 60 years’ devoted service to music, which was also his main interest and hobby, died this week. He was Mr Frank Francis Huston, who was born in Lyttelton and received his education at Lyttelton Main School. He was 89.
Mr Huston spent 40 years on the permanent shore staff of the Union Steamship Company.
Mr Huston was conductor of the Lyttelton Marine Band for a number of years. He played the clarinet and later, the tenor horn, and received a badge from the Royal Music Society of Great Jjritain for his long service to music. He was, at one time, a member of the choir of Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Lyttelton and the Lyttelton Marine Band paid tribute to him by playing at his funeral service.
Mr Huston is survived by his wife, three married daughters and one married son.
