N.Z. MEN’S SOFTBALL
Three Games Abandoned (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. Dec. 29. The afternoon’s play in the New Zealand men's softball tournament at Palmerston North was cut short by a sudden thunderstorm. The games abandoned were Otago and Canterbury in section A, and in section B. matches between R.N.Z.A.F. and Marlborough, and Auckland and Southland. Earlier in the afternoon. Hutt Valley retained its unbeaten record by defeating Northern King Country, 5-0. In other matches in section A. Otago beat Waikato, 4-0, and Wanganui maintained its winning form against Hawke's Bay. Results of afternoon games were:— Section A: Otago 4, Waikato 2: Wanganui 3, Hawke's Bay 0: Hutt Valley 5, Northern King Country 0.
