PIONEER LANDING.—The Primate and Archbishop of New Zealand (the Most Rev. N. A. Lesser) on a floating jetty at Oihi, Bay of Islands, before wading ashore on Christmas Day to attend the hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary celebrations of the coming of Christianity to New Zealand. The jetty failed by a few feet to reach dry ground. Accompanying Archbishop Lesser are the Bishop of Waikato (the Rt. Rev. J. T. Holland), at back, and the Bishop of Auckland (the Rt. Rev. E. A. Gowing).
