HOTEL AT WAITANGI

Corporation’s Tariffs i It is possible for guests at the Tourist Hotel Corporation’s new Waitangi Hotel to have a room with private shower and toilet for as little as £3 15s a day. or rooms with private bath for £4 a day. according to the corporation’s general manager (Mr E. C. Colbeck). A report in “The Press” on December 21 quoted bed-only tariffs as ranging from £7 a day for a single room with shower and toilet, to £lO 10s a day for a double suite. Mr Colbeck says in a letter that these are the top tariffs obtaining at the new hotel, and that there is cheaper accommodation there. A schedule of tariffs says that rooms with private shower and toilet cost £3 15s a day for one person and £7 a day for two persons; rooms with private bath and toilet cost £4 a day for one person and £7 10s for two persons; suites (bedroom, bathroom, sittingroom) cost £7 a day for one person and £lO 10s a day for two persons.

These prices do not include meals, which are optional. Breakfast costs 10s. lunch 15s and dinner £l. Alternatively, they can be bought at the hotel’s cafeteria. Mr Colbeck says the Waitangi Hotel’s tariffs are the same as the Hermitage’s.
