Obituary
MR G. F. SCOLTOCK Mr G. F. Scoltock, of Richmond, died suddenly on Thursday shortly before he was due to leave for Westport with the trotter Bell Brigade, which he owned and trained. Mr Scoltock has had a long association with trotting and he was a vice-president of the Nelson Trotting Club. He bred and raced a number of horses, several of which he trained himself. He was part-owner of Vista Abbey, an acceptor for the New Zealand Champion Stakes at Ashburton today. Vista Abbey, a member of G. B. Noble’s Yaldhurst team, won the Roi I’Or Stakes at Waimate early in the month. Handicap Changed.—Eden Valley’s correct handicap in the Victoria Handicap at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting on Monday is 12 yards, not limit as it appeared in the acceptances.—(P.A.)
