POSITIVE SWAB
Joell’s Lad At Auckland Jodi's Lad, runner-up to Anne Bingen in the Tamaki Handicap at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting on December 19, has returned a positive swab. This was announced on Thursday evening by the secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Conference (Mr J. Rowley). Joell’s Lad. an aged gelding by Medoro from Swordsman’s Lady, is raced and trained by E. L. Town at Mangere. He has raced most consistently this season without winning, having been placed in six of his eight starts. The positive swab returned by Joell’s Lad is the first at a trotting meeting for more than a season. Arrangements for the hearing of an inquiry into the incident will be made in the New Year, said Mr Rowley. Joell’s Lad will be unable to start again until after the hearing of the inquiry. He is an acceptor for the Selby Handicap at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting on Monday, but will have to be scratched from that engagement REEFTON TROTTING CLUB (INC.)
