Trees At Port
Several ships at Lyttelton have Christmas trees on the foremast. One vessel, the British India Steam Navigation Company’s Bankura, has sprouted a tree on the jackstaff, in the bow. When lit last evening, the trees made a fine sight for the hundreds of inter-island travellers. Some ships were dressed for Christmas Day.
