Trimble Tour Possible (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE, Dec. 25. Queensland’s opening batsman, S. Trimble, made a strong bid for selection in the Australian team to tour the West Indies next year when he scored 147 not out on the first day’s play of a Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Adelaide today. Trimble’s century was his eighth in 12 shield matches. The first two Queensland wickets fell for only 17 runs. Then Trimble came in and batted for the rest of the day. His total included 13 fours, and was made in 330 minutes. Scores: Queensland 29/66 (Trimble 147 not out, T. R. Veivers 60, P. J. Burge 45; N. J. Hawke 3/62, McCarthy 2/75).
