St. Nazaire Likely At Gore

St. Naxaire may be equal to overcoming his handicap of St yards in the Gore Cup, main event and first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Gore Trotting Club’s annual Boxing Day meeting on Saturday. St. Naxaire won in effortless style over a sprint distance at Invercargill last week. His most difficult opponent this week is likely to be the Light Brigade four-year-old. Powerful Light, which will be having his first start in a Southland Cup class field after graduating at Wyndham last month. The second leg, the Riversdale Handicap. will see Waitaki Smoke and Calm Autumn in favour. Indications are for a firm track.
