St. Mary’s Old Girls
The St Mary’s Convent Old Girls’ Association held its biennial meeting at the convent recently, and the following officers were elected: president, Mrs S. Alexander: vice-presidents. Mesdames M. Husband and E. Steel; secretary, Mrs M. Adamson; assistant secretary, Mrs R Deeming; treasurer, Mrs D. George; assistant treasurer. Miss S. O’Neill; committee. Mesdames E. Ayrey, R. Arney, M. Duncan, M. McNabb, S. Harris, P. Devonport, C. Bullock, Misses J. Bennett, C. Cosgriff, and J. Richie. A scholarship awarded annually by the association was won this year by Therese Slade, of St Mary’s College primary department Members of the association gathered for a Christmas party recently. The Christmas cake was cut by the Reverend Mother, assisted by one of the first day pupils, Mrs A Anderson, of Sumner. IA dinner party will conclude ■the association’s activities for 'the year.
