HOSPITAL VISITING
Little Change Over Holiday
Most Christchurch hospitals will observe normal visiting hours over Christmas. The main exceptions are the St. Helens Hospital, where there will be open visiting on Christmas Day, and St. George’s Hospital, where open visiting will be allowed over the Christmas-New Year period. At Essex Hospital visiting will be extended slightly on December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2. The hospital will be open to patients’ children, friends, and relatives from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Patients in the Tuberculosis Annex of the Coronation Hospital will be open to visits by their friends from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Christmas Day at the main building of the hospital. There will be no variation from normal visiting arrangements in the geriatric section of the Coronation Hospital, or at the Christchurch, Princess Margaret, Burwood, St. George’s, Calvary, Sunnyside, Templeton, or Bethany Hospitals.
