Californian ’Quake Breaks Windows
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SAN DIEGO (California) December 22. A sharp earthquake—the heaviest in California in a decade—struck southern California from Los Angeles to the Mexican border, causing extensive damage, shattering windows and dishes and starting at least one fire today.
Some damage also was reported south of the Mexican border in the resort city of Ensenada, where the manager of a hotel, Mrs Alice Silva, said “everything shook.” There were no apparent injuries or fatalities.
