They began when she fell out of a tree and broke her spine. Doctors said she would never walk again, but she surprised them. In her latest mishap Jan fell and sprained her ankle, but she went on for two shows that night. She said yesterday: “It was important to plug my record, ‘Walking in the Rain.’ Anyway, I’ve stood worse pain before.”
