Beckenham continued its winning run by defeating Elmwood 6-1 during the second round of the water polo competition.
L. Scott (two), M. Scott, R. Henry, B. McNeilage and L. McIntosh scored for Beckenham. K. Chamberlain scored for Elmwood.
Christchurch showed improved form to draw with Wharenui, 2-2. For Christchurch, D. Bradley and J. Snoep scored. R. Erickson and M. McGirr were the scorers for Wharenui.
University showed improvement to defeat Fendalton, 3-2. F. Gunthorpe, P. Hatchwell and F. McDonald showed out for University, R. Pirie and B. Sutherland for Fendalton. Other results:
