Wool Dearer At Invercargill

(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, December 22. The market at the fourth Invercargill wool sale of this season today was quoted up to 21 per cent dearer for all descriptions of fleece wool with skirtings in sellers’ favour.

The bulk of the offering was predominantly good colour fleece wool, together with a small selection of woolly and shorn hoggets and the usual range of oddments. Continental buyers took the bulk of the offering, Bradford dominating competition on woolly hoggets, the United States operating on coarser types with Japanese interests centred on the down and down cross wools. Premium prices were paid for woolly hoggets, paper felt and well grown wools of good colour.

The official report of the sale says 22,500 bales were offered.
