Starter For Wellington
"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL, Dec. 21. Tactile, which is expected to come back to his best form for the Inter-Dominion Championship series at Forbury Park in February, is to have his first race test at the Wellington meeting next month. Tactile missed a race in the Caltex Gold Cup at Invercargill, it being decided to withdraw him when the track became greasy after a downpour.
His trainer, D. P. Dynes, said at the week-end that Tactile had worked really good.” Tactile and Robin Dundee will be given a stirring trial at the Winton Trotting Club’s meeting next Monday. They will be paired in a strong run under race conditions to assist in fitting them for their engagements in the next month or two.
