W. L. Hillis Injured
"The Press” Special Sertnco ; INVERCARGILL, Dec. 21. The Riverton trainer, W. J.; Hillis, who has a big team to race on the Christmas and i New Year racing circuits, suffered a broken collarbone at the week-end. as the result of a collision between a horse and a motor-car. When informed Chait there was a neigh bour’e horse on i t he Ri verton-Invercargil 1 : highway about three miles I from Riverton on Saturday night, Hillis went out to move lit. Just as he was nearing the horse it was hit by an oncoming car and thrown on to Hillis, hitting him on the shoulder. He was treated at the Riverton Hospital and discharged. Hillis was to have ridden Collide at Wingatiu lon Saturday.
