40 Years’ Service

WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. Mr G. W. Brown, assistant general manager of the Railways Department will retire next February after 40 years’ service.
Announcing this today, the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) said Mr I. Thomas, second assistant general manager, would succeed Mr Brown.
Mr J. H. O. Tiller, chief staff officer in the staff division of the general manager’s office, will become second assistant general manager.
Mr Thomas has been with the department for 35 years, and Mr Tiller for 35 years.
