Swung Razor At Constable

(N.Z. Press Association! WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. A man who swung a safety razor down the check of a constable on duty in Cuba street on Friday night “be cause he needed a shave' was gaoled for 14 days by Mr R. D. Jamieson, S.M., today. Patrick Trentham Braxton, aged 32, workman, pleaded guilty to behaving in a disorderly manner. Sergeant A. Davey said Braxton had approached the constable from behind, grabbed him by the shoulder and swung a safety razor down the constable’s left cheek. Apart from a graze there was no injury. It was later found the razor had a blade in it. Braxton said he had thought the constable needed a shave. He had been under the influence of liquor at the time.
