L. Gerrard (Auckland) and Miss R. Bentley (England) are the No. 1 seeds in the men’s and women's singles of the South Island lawn tennis championships which open at Maori Park, Tima™, on Boxing Day.

N. MeAffer (Wellington) is the top seed in the boys' singles while Miss B. Vercoe (Auckland) is No. 1 in the girls’ singles.

This was annpunced today by the management committee of the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association.
