St. Nazaire Makes His Presence Felt

(New Zealand Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, Dec. 20. St. Nazaire did not take long to make his presence felt in Southland Cup class when he easily won the Southland Handicap, main event and second leg of the double on the second day of the Invercargill Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday. Driven with admirable judgment by H. W. Skinner, St. Nazaire settled the issue in a few strides when brought out to challenge the leaders inside the final furlong. The first leg of the double, the Summer Handicap, was won by the little fancied First Solo. The meeting was held in fine but overcast weather, and the racing was held under pleasant conditions. The track was dead. Results:—
