Found On Roof

INVERCARGILL, Dec. 20. Police found £lBOO worth of goods in 10 suitcases on the roof of H. and J. Smith’s department store, in Tay and Kelvin streets, Invercargill, In the early hours of today. They were alerted by a tenant in the U.F.S. Hall buildings. Two police dogs were taken to the store and the suitcases were found on the roof. Two men were later arrested and will appear in court tomorrow.
Goods in the suitcases included £6OO worth of watches, £4OO worth of miscellaneous jewellery, two tape recorders. a number of transistor radios and clothing.
