Mrs J. H. D. Morgan The sudden death occurred in London last week of Mrs J. H. D. Morgan, the former Miss Alice Pascoe, of Christchurch. The daughter of the late Mr and Mrs G. Pascoe, Mrs Morgan was educated at the Misses Saunders School, and later at Craighead, Timaru.
After graduating as a nurse at Christchurch Hospital in 1932, Mrs Morgan spent some time in India, where she met her husband, who was in the British Army. In 1956 her husband, Lieutenant Colonel J. H. D. Morgan, was appointed military attache to the British Embassy in Oslo. The couple later settled in London.
Mrs Morgan is survived by her husband and two children. MRS R. J. MILLAR
The death occurred recently of a well known resident of Southbridge, Mrs R. J. Millar. She had lived in the district for most of her life. Mrs Millar was an active worker for the Presbyterian Church. She was in the choir for many years, was treasurer of the P.W.M.U. and belonged to the Women’s Fellowship. She had an early association with the Ellesmere Plunket Society, was a past president and maintained her connexion with the Southbridge sub-branch until her death. She also belonged to the Horticultural Society, the Garden Club and the Women’s Institute.
Mrs Millar is survived by her husband, two daughters and two sons.
