Girls Visit To Slaughterhouse

Sir, —I thank Miss Mullan for her reply to my letter but I fear she has evaded answering the simple question whether she thinks that to see animals actually slaughtered is a proper sight for girls of their age. It is obvious, surely, that the staff at the works neither welcomed nor approved of the girls seeing some of the things they did see and in this they showed more nous than the teachers in charge. Personally, I am rather flattered at the number of telephone messages and letters (one from as far away as Nelson) I have received commending my letter calling attention to this matter.— Yours, etc., TREVOR W. STRINGER. December 20, 1964.
