HIGH U.S. OFFICIALS
Call To Submit Resignations (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Dec. 7. The American State Department, as is usual after a Presidential election, has asked all its top officials, including the Secretary of State, Mr Dean Rusk, and all Ambassadors abroad, to submit their resignations, officials said today. The resignations are to be submitted by December 15, the officials said. The persons concerned will stay on in their jobs unless their offer is accepted. There has been no official announcement yet but President Johnson is expected to ask Mr Rusk and his deputy, the Under-Secretary, Mr George Ball, to stay in office.
