ORDINATION SERVICE

Three. Priests, Nine Deacons

A service for the ordination of three priests and nine deacons will be held in Christchurch Cathedral at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday. To be ordained as priests are the Rev. D. G. Boyd, of St. Aidan’s, Bryndwr; the Rev. M. H. Brown, of St. Chad’s, Linwood; and the Rev. D. R. Harper, of St. Barnabas’s, Fendalton. To be ordained as deacons are Mr K. T. Davy, of Holy Trinity, Avonside; Mr J. S. Fisher, of St. Matthew's, St. Albans; Mr P. E. R. Hammonds, of All Saints’, Burwood; Mr A. D. Hewson, of St. Mary’s, Merivale; Mr T. E. W. B. Jackson, of St. Stephen’s, Ashburton; Mr R. G. McCullough, of St. Paul’s, Papanui; Mr D. P. Millar, acting precentor of the Cathedral; Mr G. W. Tisch, of St. Stephen’s, Shirley; and Mr L. C. Wards, of St. Mary's, Timaru.

The Rev. P. W. Mann, vicar of Dannevirke, will preach. Those to be ordained went into retreat at Bishopscourt on Thursday, and will remain there until Sunday morning.
