Students Failed

LONDON, November 26. A thousand students set out last night to drink a pub dry.
Long before they reached their target police had to be called to the Six Bells Hotel in Chelsea, the “Daily Mail” reported.
They arrived to find glasses being thrown and figures lying unconscious on the pavement. But the drunken rioting was all in a good cause and no arrests were made. The students, from Lon-
don University, had set themselves the task of consuming 5000 pints of beer before closing time. If they succeeded the brewers and a wine company had promised a large donation to the university’s rag week fund.
The landlord, who had to walk along the counter to keep order, said: “They are a bit boisterous. But there’s nothing for them to break in the pub except glasses and bottles.”
' Two students were carried to hospital with clits.
