Duties: The General Sales Manager will be answerable to the Joint Managing Director and will Recruit, Hain and supervise representatives in both Islands; Develop sales results from his team by aggressive leadership and the display of imagination and persistence in his selling plans; Introduce and examine expansion info new fields: Handle publicity, in association with the Joint Managing Director; Deal directly with major client prospects. The emphasis is on front-line selling and sales organisation rather than general marketing responsibilities. The position is not for 'a desk-bound man; he must be free to travel within New Zealand and will reside in Christchurch. The principal measure of performance will be results in terms of increased sales and improved Company standing.
