Prices Steady For N.Z, Lamb

Trading for light pitchings of New Zealand lamb on Smithfield Market, London, this week continued steady on prices unchanged from last week’s, reports the New Zealand Producers’ Board Information Service. There was slow trade for small quantities of New Zealand mutton. In the main weight range (49-561 b hoggets sold at 16id to 17$d a pound; wethers 16d to 17d a pound and ewes 15d a pound. There was little interest in New Zealand quarter beef which was especially affected by the continuing mild weather, but trade in boneless cuts remained steady. Quotations for New Zealand lamb were:—
