BORNEO ALERT
Build-Up On Border
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright)
LONDON, November 27. British and Malaysian security forces in Borneo have been placed on the alert. The alert was after intelligence reports of a growing arms build-up on the Indonesian side of the border. Steps have been taken to deal with any fresh incursions by Indonesians and this time it is expected that Indonesia will launch heavy attacks.
Their hit-and-run tactics in the past have been contained, but it is understood there have been feints to test the strength and disposition of security forces. It has been emphasised by British and Malaysian officers that the forces in Borneo were adequate to deal with the present situation.
