COPPER KING LOOKS FOR THIRD SUCCESS

PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 19. Copper King served notice that he is going to be hard to keep from chalking up his third success in succession at Feilding on Saturday when he worked brilliantly over five furlongs on the plough at Awapuni today. He recorded figures that are rarely bettered on this track. Copper King took Imin 2sec in his trial, the last three furlongs in 37 2-ssec. He finished strongly and could not have been more impressive. The extra furlong on Saturday should be all to his advantage. El Ganador shaded Grand Coeur at the end of an easy six furlongs in Imin 22sec, the last three in 41 l-ssec. They did not go hard and El Ganador looks ready for a big effort in the first leg. Legatus was much better than Sapphire Ring at the end of five furlongs In Imin 3 2-ssec, the last three in 38 2-ssec. Legatus could go close to a well deserved win this week. Hi-Ho and Complicated beat Dick Turpin easily over five furlongs in Imin 4 4-ssec, the last three in 39 4-ssec. Hi-Ho, a half-brother to Rapido, ran his best race to date last week and he should be hard to beat on Saturday. Worked Comfortably

Saturnian took Imin 36sec for seven furlongs and did his work

comfortably and well. He should repeat last week’s highweight success. Cumro was more impressive than Tenor Time at the end of six furlongs in Imin 19 3-ssec, the last three in 40 2-ssec. Red View completed six furlongs without much effort in Imin 19sec, the last three in 40sec. He is worth another chance this week in the St. Andrews Handicap. Gymkhana impressed in beating Princess Merit over half a mile in 50 2-ssec, the last three furlongs in 37 4-ssec. Worked Keenly Sail Away worked keenly over six furlongs in Imin 19sec, the last three in 39sec. No decision has been made as to which race he will contest this week. Valentino ran five furlongs in Imin 6sec, the last three slowing up in 41sec. Justice Mac took Imin 2 l-ssec for a fast five furlongs, the last three in 37 Marine, Luzonite and Great Affair are doubtful starters on Saturday and Ranul will contest the Nikau Hack Handicap in preference to the Empire Hack Handicap.
