FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—A weak anti-cyclone north of New Zealand is moving eastwards and a westerly airstream flows over the country. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh winds, north to north-easterlies, predominating; partly cloudy, with mild temperatures. Nelson. —Light to moderate variable winds; isolated showers about the western ranges, otherwise partly cloudy and mild. Kaikoura Coast and Marlborough.—Moderate north to north-west winds; rather cloudy about the Sounds, with a few isolated showers; elsewhere fine and mild. Buller and Westland. —Moderate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating; mainly overcast, with rather persistent rain; moderate temperatures. Outlook.—All districts: unsettled, with rain at times, mainly light in Canterbury.
