OFFER OF £516,250
Golf Course At Takapuna (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 18. An offer of £516,250 for 93} acres of golf course land at Takapuna which the Takapuna City Council is to buy from the Government for £175,000 for 98} acres we received by the council meeting last night from one of two companies interested in developing a regional centre in Northcote road. The firm also renewed its previous offer to buy 30 acres for £200,000 and offered to buy the residual 63} acres for £316,250 for medium-den-sity housing. The land, formerly the North Shore golf course, is now the Takapuna municipal golf course. The condition of sale of the land imposed by the Government is that it is used for civic, cultural and commercial purposes. The council decided to ask the firm for alternative tenders based on a leasehold tenure.
