Sales, Profit Higher (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 18. After a rise of £16,607 in sales, to £157,470, net profit of Unit Subdivisions, Ltd.. Auckland, rose by £971, or 5.6 per cent, in the year ended October 1.
Latest result of £18,228 compares with £17,257 the year before when a rise of 55.2 per cent was achieved.
Profit was struck after providing £935 more for tax at £16.835.
Earning rate on shareholders’ funds edged up from 10.3 per cent to 10.4 per cent. Trading profit was up £1946 at £41,508 and other income rose by £4299, but expenses were £4215 higher at £19,069. These included depreciation of £646 (last year £182). As announced, ordinary dividend has been raised from 6 per cent to 7 per cent. It takes £l5OO more at £10,500. After writing off £5OO (last year £805) from initial expenses, the carryforward is £24,757 compared with £17,529 brought in.
