Last... But Not Least
It is customary for the principal actor in a play to appear last when the curtain calls are being made, but not many playwrights would keep their principal out of the piece until the last moment. And it was no sense of the dramatic which kept P. W. Thomson, seven times Open champion. from Shirley while all the other competitors in the New Zealand Open were practising this week. Thomson had hoped to make a plane connexion which would have brought him to Christchurch yesterday morning, but he did not arrive until 6.40 p.m. yesterday.
