25 YEARS’ SERVICE

4 Join Gold Watch Group

Four new members were inducted last night into the 25-year club of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Ltd., at the club’s annual dinner.

In recognition of their 25 years’ service, they were presented with gold watches by the chairman of directors (Mr G. Gibson), who is also a member of the club. The new members are Mr A. E. Glassey, Mr L. F. Cornwall, Mr K. B. Radd, and Mr T. A. McKellar.

Mr Glassey was manager of the company’s grocery departments in Leeston and Ashburton before he took his present position as grocery manager in Christchurch. Mr Cornwall joined the company as an office boy at Ashburton and is now head of the appliance department there.

Mr Radd began his service as an office junior in Blenheim, worked his way up through the auction department and is now stock agent at Blenheim.

Mr McKellar, who has been vice-chairman of directors since 1947, has served on the board for 25 years. More than 2000 man-years of service are represented in the company’s 25-year club.
