‘Zhivago’ Film Actress
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, Nov. 17. The actress, Julie Christie, has been signed to play the leading role of Lara in David Lean’s film of “Dr. Zhivago,” adapted from the Boris Pasternak novel. Miss Christie was asked to play the role in the film after Mr Lean, the producer, Carlo Ponti, and others associated in the new film had seen her her in the film “Young Cassidy.” Miss Christie, who recently appeared in “Billy Liar,” will co-star with Omar Sharif and Rod Steiger in “Dr Zhivago” beginning production in Spain next month.
