Attack On Woman
(N.Z. Press Association> NAPIER, November S. The former proprietress of a Napier hotel was attacked at her home in Spencer road, Napier, last night. She is Mrs Noela Ada Vannan, formerly of the Napier Hotel, Hastings street. Mrs Vannan told police she had gone to bed just before 9 p.m. and soon after 10 p.m. she was awakened by a young slim-built man. The intruder tied her hands and feet together with a light rope. Police said the intruder, after he had tied up Mrs Vannan, had indicated he was going to look for money in the house, but he did not take anything.
