Trap Shooting S.I. Title Won By N.I. Marksman

(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 8. R. H. O. Hynds, of Tauranga, who travelled the longest distance to compete in the South Island clay target shooting championships, held at Dunedin, won the single rise championship on Saturday.

This match of 25 targets off 18 yards—the feature event of the tournament—attracted an entry of 77 competitors, 15 of whom registered the possible. The first-miss-out shoot-off to find the winner produced a high standard of trapshooting. Hynds was taken to the 73rd target before winning. J. Sutherland (Seaward Downs) was second and R. G. Brown (Anama) third. Hynds had a successful tournament. He was second in Friday’s skeet title event and with W. L. Brinkworth (Hamilton) won the two-man teams championship. Although he has represented New Zealand, Saturday’s championship success was his best individual achievement to date. Results:—
