Taxi Courtesy
Sir, —During my visit to Christchurch, I have been amazed by the lack of courtesy displayed by the taxi drivers I have been unlucky enough to engage. Three times in one day I have taken taxis (I am an elderly woman) and on each occasion the drivers (all young) did not leave their seats either when I entered or left the taxi. Just what is required by law from a driver, apart from the natural courtesy one would expect from a young man to an elderly woman?—Yours, etc., FARMER’S WIFE. November 7, 1964.
