CURRENT NOTES

Folk Songs Presented.—A programme of folk songs was enjoyed by members and guests of the Women’s Group of the Royal Commonwealth Society, at a recent meeting at Elizabeth House. The singing was by the choir of the Riccarton League of Mothers, led by Mrs H. Colthart, with Mesdames Madeline Hanafin and K. Swallow as soloists. Mrs A. W. Scott was the pianist. Specially invited guests were eight elderly women, who were welcomed by the president (Mrs J. D. Arthur), and later presented with flowers and gifts. Mrs H. E. Goggin thanked the artists.

Change In Superiors.— Mother Adrian, of St. Joseph's Horae for Boys at Halswell, has gone to Lasswade, Scotland, and has been succeeded as superior by Mother Patricia Columba, of Brisbane. Mother Frances, of Nazareth House, has gone to Ballarat, Australia, and has been succeeded as superior by Mother Kerin, from Brisbane.
