NOTIFIABLE DISEASES
Salmonellosis In Children Two cases of salmonellosis in children were reported in the Christchurch health district last week. One sufferer was a baby girl in Paparua County and the other a boy in the Rangiora County. Five cases of infective hepatitis were notified during the week. The patients were a young woman in Christchurch City and another in Paparua County, a man in his thirties and a small girl in Waimairi County, and a woman in Kaiapoi Borough. Ophthalmia neonatorum was reported in a baby boy in a metropolitan hospital. Three cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were reported, involving middle-aged women in the city and in Kaikoura County, and an elderly man in the city. A woman in Kaiapoi Borough was notified, with occupational dermatitis.
