Youngest And Oldest
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 2. Brian Courtney, aged 16, will be the youngest jockey riding in the Melbourne Cup. Courtney has been engaged to ride Jamagne, which won three races in succession before finishing fifth in the Werribee Cup. The oldest jockey in the race will be A. Breasley, who is 50. He will be trying to win his first Melbourne Cup. Breasley, who was brought out from England as the guest of the Victorian Racing Club, will be having his seventeenth ride in the cup when he goes out on Gold Chick tomorrow.
