TAUGHT LOT BY TOUR

Badminton Team Back (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 2. Improved tactics and the absolute necessity for good strokes were the principal lessons learned by the New Zealand badminton team which returned from Malaya today. This was stated by Mr H. Purser, the team manager, in Wellington tonight. “We learned a tremendous lot from the tour. Our women were vastly superior, but though the top Malayan men were a long way better than ours the group below them were more on a par. “The Malayans were very impressed by the fitness of our team and If New Zealand can negotiate another tour of Malaya I would like to see it be of similar length but with two or three more matches than we played. “We found the coaching very beneficial and already it is noticeable that the players have absorbed the lesson learnt to some degree,” he said.
