Prize»winning entries and a selection of the best posters in the recent “Kindness to Animals” competition will be on display in the D.I.C. tearoom lounge from November 3 to 6.
The competition, which was for- schools in Canterbury. Marlborough, Nelson and Westland, was organised by the Council of Animal Welfare Organisations and judged by Mr W. A. Sutton, senior lecturer in painting at the School of Fne Arts, University of Canterbury. Results were:,—

Fourteen And 15 Years.—Murray Hedwig (Nelson College) I, Rachel Inkson (Craighead Diocesan School. Timaru) 2. Juliette Pake (Hakatere College, Ashburton) 3. Twelve And 13 Years.—Barbara Copland (Craighead Diocesan School, Timaru) 1, Barry Grice (Kirkwood Intermediate School) 2, Paul Johns (Kirkwood Intermediate School) 3. Ten And 11 Years.—C. Noonan (Bamford School) 1, Geoffrey Douglas (Woolston School) 2, Ruth McLanaclan (Nelson Intermediate School) 3.
Eight And Nine Years.—Donald Paterson (Fendalton School) 1, Jackie Maher (Fendalton School) 2, Hugh August (Fendalton School) 3.
